Asya Shein-Alexander is an entrepreneur, cultural marketer, event producer, and media executive with more than two decades of experience connecting artists, audiences, brands, and communities. As the founder and publisher of Fusicology, she has built one of the leading platforms dedicated to promoting live music, arts, and cultural experiences while developing strategic marketing campaigns, partnerships, and audience engagement initiatives for venues, festivals, nonprofits, municipalities, and global brands. Her work spans event production, digital marketing, sponsorship strategy, media relations, and community engagement, with a focus on creating meaningful cultural impact through music and the arts.

Working in the music industry since the age of 15, Asya Shein-Alexander has spent more than three decades building communities through music, culture, technology, and live experiences. She is the Founder and Publisher of Fusicology, one of North America's leading music and culture platforms, connecting audiences with concerts, festivals, nightlife, new music, editorial content, and cultural events since 2003.
Born in Toronto and now based in Los Angeles, Asya began her career promoting events throughout Detroit, Toronto, Chicago, and New York before launching Mir Media, a boutique booking and artist management agency representing influential DJs, producers, and live artists. Throughout her early career she worked alongside some of the pioneers of house and techno while helping introduce groundbreaking artists and events to audiences across North America.
In 2003, she launched Fusicology, transforming it from an event calendar into a multifaceted media, marketing, and experiential platform. Today, Fusicology partners with artists, venues, festivals, nonprofits, municipalities, brands, and cultural institutions to deliver strategic marketing campaigns, audience development, sponsorship consulting, event production, and digital media services. Through its newsletters, editorial platform, social channels, and event calendar, Fusicology reaches tens of thousands of culturally engaged music fans each week.
Throughout her career, Asya has worked with artists and organizations including J Dilla, Questlove, Pete Rock, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Common, Dwele, Raheem DeVaughn, Omar, Vikter Duplaix, Kerri Chandler, Bugz in the Attic, Glenn Underground, Boo Williams, Moodymann, Theo Parrish, Peven Everett, and many others, while collaborating with leading promoters, venues, festivals, and cultural institutions throughout North America.
Under Asya's leadership, Fusicology has produced and co-produced a growing portfolio of cultural events and tributes, including Dilla Fest LA, Dilla Fest at Winter Jazzfest in New York, the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop at Grand Performances, Movement Weekend programming in Detroit, Moodymann Plays Prince, and Nothing Compares 2 Prince: A Celebration of Life & Legacy featuring Bilal and DJ Rashida at The Ford in Los Angeles. The company has also partnered on numerous GRAMMY Week events, artist showcases, album release celebrations, and tributes honoring the legacies of Prince, Miles Davis, and J Dilla.
Beyond event production, Asya leads sponsorship strategy, experiential marketing, partnership development, digital media campaigns, website and platform development, and audience growth initiatives for clients across the music, entertainment, nonprofit, and lifestyle sectors. She is also a Professional Member of the Recording Academy.
